Last spring, I received the greatest surprise of my life from my most wonderful husband for my fortieth birthday! He bought me a spot in a photography workshop that I so desperately wanted to go to. It has only taken me nine months to get this on my blog! With a new born and two other small children at home, it makes it nearly impossible to work on things for fun! I was however able to keep up with the jobs that God provided me with.
This boho inspired styled shoot was created by the most talented Vanessa Joy and Kay English. Organized and every detail well thought out and beautifully put together, Vanessa and Kay brought so much talent together. It took place in the beautiful pre-revolutionary Oakley Farm House. With floral arrangements created by Reverie Events, cake design by Hudson Cakery, and book design by the Green Lace Lion it felt as though I was shooting for an Anthropology catalogue. Everything was absolute perfection! Make up artist, Jeanine Mangan, and hair stylist, Taylor Dooley, made these already stunning models stand out enhancing their best attributes. The models were wearing gowns from Claire Pettibone. Ines di Santo and Yumi Katsura.
The day was broken into a morning photography session, an editing session, an info session, lunch, an afternoon info session and an evening shoot. For both of the photo sessions we were broken into groups and had different stations to shoot. The info sessions were jam packed with business, editing and photography tips. I didn’t stop taking notes the whole time! Such a wealth of information and talent in one room!
All in all I had the best time and I learned so much and met so many awesome photographers! I am forever grateful to my husband, Vanessa and Kay for this experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat! Can I honey?!?
Here are some of my favorite shots from the day!
