I love rustic weddings…
Uh, what can I say but that I love rustic weddings! So this Rustic Perona Farms Wedding in Andover, NJ was really up my alley! When my bride, Dominique, called this NJ Photographer up and said “I love your work, I would love to work with you.” I was like, “yeah”! It is so awesome to work with couples that love your art!
How did they meet?
How did my awesome couple meet? Well, when Dominique saw Alberto in a photo with one of their mutual friends, she decided to pm him! Their first date was at Paisano’s Italian Restaurant in Rutheford, NJ. After they enjoyed their meal they walked around the Paramus Mall and had coffee. They dated almost 3 years before tying the knot on June 3, 2018. Some of the things they like to do together is play tennis (me too!), spend time with their daughter, Juliana, cooking, watching documentaries on Netflix and traveling.
The proposal
Oh, so you want to know how he proposed?!? Well, (this story is very similar to that of how my husband proposed in the he couldn’t wait part) so Alberto bought the ring and was planning on proposing to Dominique on a romantic Mediterranean cruise, but he just couldn’t wait! He was excited! So, he came into bed with Dominique almost asleep, grabbed her hand and placed the box with the ring inside in it. He asked her to marry him right there and then took a knee! I love it!
Their wedding day
My beautiful couple started their day at the Holiday Inn in Budd Lake, NJ. Dominique rocked her elegant Casablanca bridal dress and was complimented with her bridesmaids teal full length dresses. She carried a beautiful bridal bouquet with cream roses and peach berries. Her bridesmaids flowers had hints of pink, peach, and cream flowers with some greenery that really looked lovely! Alberto looked very dapper in his light grey Men’s Wearhouse suit and white tie. The guys also complimented him well with their grey suits and teal ties. Alberto’s boutonniere matched his bride to be with a cream rose and peach berries and his guys had peach roses.
Dominique and Alberto saw each other for the first time at their ceremony, which took place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Newton, NJ at 1pm. They had a beautiful Catholic ceremony and afterwards did some family formals at the church. They then headed to the venue, Perona Farms in Andover, NJ. Once at the venue, we did bridal party photos and bride and groom photos. The cocktail hour was on the bottom floor of the Perona Farms barn. Once the reception started, the bridal party and newlyweds had a long walk down to the dance floor where the couple walked through an arch made by their bridal party. The Hoi Polloi’s played the couple’s first dance and shortly after asked for their loved ones to join. The speeches were heartfelt and funny and the guests danced the night away to the amazing Hoi Polloi band. It was an amazing night that I am sure no one will soon forget.
